Manually Define Backup File Selection Rules
Browse and select the files to back up using the tree view in the Backup Configuration page. As you select files and directories, LiveVault Web Portal generates file selection rules. You do not have to change these rules.
You can, however, view and modify rules that are generated from your selections in the tree view, or add new rules.
To manually define file selection rules

On the Backup Configuration page, click Advanced.
The Backup Configuration page displays all current file selection rules.

Define the file selection rules, following the appropriate steps for the actions you want to perform.
Add a New Rule
To add a new rule

Click New Rule.

Define the rule selection information.
The new rule is added to the list.

Click OK.
Order the Rules
Order the rules so they progress from the most general to the most specific. The rule order affects how files are qualified for backup.
To order the rules

Select a rule from the list.

Click Move Up or Move Down as needed to reposition the rule.
Repeat as necessary for each rule.

Click OK.
Modify an Existing Rule
To modify an existing rule

Select an existing rule from the list.

Click Edit.

Modify the rule selection information.
The revised rule is added to the list.

Click OK.
Delete a Rule
To delete a rule

Select an existing rule from the list.

Click Delete.
The rule is removed from the list.
